Milla’s Paris: Mini Palais
One of the things I like most about my life in Paris is that I’m constantly discovering. Of course I have my favourite place for tea, lunch and so on, but I’m keen to discover more about the city I call home. When a friend suggested the Mini Palais for lunch, I have to admit I had to Google it. Shame Milla, shame.
I like nice, high quality things/experiences and Mini Palais did not disappoint. With a spacious terrace the entire length of the restaurant and a lovely view Petit Palais, where better to sit and catch up with a friend over a tasty meal? I enjoyed it so much I returned there four days later with another friend and her daughter.
When I have guests visiting, they invariably want to go to the Champs-Élysées, which I don’t mind but with the exception of Ladurée, there is nowhere decent to stop for drinks/lunch. With a varied menu and an impressive wine list, Mini Palais has changed that. If you’re passing, I suggest you visit.

That place looks goooood.
By the way, I love your where-to-go-in-Paris posts.
Thank you Lisa, that’s nice to hear! I won’t pretend to be a guide to Paris but I really enjoying sharing my personal experience of this stunning city. It is such a huge building but I had no idea it was a restaurant.
This looks amazing. And what a view!
PS. Your blog is much better with bigger pictures.
I was amazed when my friend suggested it because I’ve walked by a million times. Thank you – I have Aggie (from onceoverlightly) to thank. She’s my photography guru.
Another one to add to the list!! I’m well aware anything along the Champs Elysees is tourist driven and crappy, aside from Laduree of course, so this is a one place to know as I’m sure we’ll be down the Champs Elysees once or twice! That dessert looks stunning!!
That’s the thing with the Champs-Élysées, the tourist-style shops ruin what I think is a truly spectacular avenue. You have Arc de Triomphe at one end with the stunning Place de la Concorde at the other. My favourite times to visit are first thing in the morning/in the winter months when there aren’t many people. I also like the Christmas period of decorations and little stalls, but crazy crowds! You’re coming at the best time!
PS – the dessert is called Café Gourmand. It was the first time I had it since I only drink coffee a few times a year but you can find it in many place – a coffee of your choice and a selection of desserts.
I looked at the menu and already decided that’s what I’d have for dessert! Except I can’t stand coffee so I’d have the tea version. Yum!
I hope the Christmas lights are still up on the Champs Elysees when we get there but I fear we’ll be arriving too late.
Oooohh looks lovely! That dessert looks amazing!

Three desserts in one? You don’t have to ask me twice!
It’s always so nice to find out of lovely places to go in a city from the people living there. When I come across a great reccomendation I use to write it down, because they are way better and more trustworthy than any ordinary city guide. And this one looks incredible! xo

I saw the name of this post and had no idea what it was!! Milla thanks for keeping me in the loop. The food and setting look divine. Oh how I am missing Paris in the monsoon/hurricane/storm we are having!
I hope you and your family weren’t too troubled by the crazy storm.
Add this to your list for Paris next year – you’ll love it!
Oo this place looks divine. I love the pictures of the food – just the sort I love to eat. I need to get me to Paris!!
I thought of you the other day, I watched Midnight in Paris and am convinced I saw Fauchon in one of the opening shots. Everything this last week has made me want to visit the city again, le sigh….
Yes you do! Paris awaits your arrival missy.
What did you make of the film?
Looks good, very good. Yes, I agree about the Champs Elysees; there is no real selection aside from Laduree. I must add Mini Palais to my list. Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome! Keen to know what you make of it next time you’re in town.
The plating looks wonderful! The Chinese have a saying: “You eat with your eyes first”, and what a feast for the eyes!
I have no idea how I could even finish all of them though. Usually I’d skip dessert!
What a lovely saying!
I can only eat 2 courses and so always skip the starter. I don’t feel ‘normal’ if I skip dessert!
