Milla’s Christmas Dream List

Monday, December 12, 2011

Since I met the delightful Catherine B. last month, I have become obsessed with this camel Birkin bag in her shop. “My” Birkin is just perfect and the idea of leaving Paris without it simply won’t do. Alas, unless Father Christmas is feeling extremely generous, “my” Birkin and I will have to continue our long distance relationship. This is my absolute dream present and yes, I will be writing more about Madame B.

Moving back to London will mean I have a lot more time to focus on my own little projects and pleasures, and baking fits right in there. I just did a cupcake class, which I’ll blog about soon, and I am now super keen to get a fancy mixer to start baking up a storm. This Kitchen Aid Artisan mixer is top of the line and just what I would like.

We all know that Jimmy Choo are the best shoes in the game. Stunning and so, so comfortable. I swear by them. I have been eyeing these ‘Private‘ heels for the longest time. They’re so high but so gorgeous.

Only three items on my Christmas dream list. I told you I was a simple girl…

What is on your Christmas dream list?

    Hi!

So is Catherine B a consignment shop? I’ll be in Paris next week for the holidays!!! I can’t wait.

      Hello Tiffany,

How wonderful that you’ll get to spend Christmas in Paris! When do you arrive? There is a private sale at Catherine B’s shop on Sunday. She stocks only vintage Chanel and Hermès to the highest quality, and this is from someone who dislikes vintage. Her stock is in absolute pristine condition.

Ah, a girl of my own making…

I have an uncanny ability to select merely one or two gifts with a combined value greater than a Christmas list bearing hundreds. But, then, I’ve always followed a ‘quality over quantity’ philosophy when it comes to making my requests of Santa.

    The Birkin is exquisite.

P.S: Milla, might you like to email me with your plans for London – when you will be here, availability, and so on. I would *love* to see you.

Great minds think alike! The Birkin is heavenly but I cannot justify buying it myself, so Father Christmas needs to call Catherine and hook me up! I live in hope…

Definitely Sarah. I move back first week of January and so once I’m settled, I’ll email you and we can have tea.

      xx

        That’s a deal. :0)

I hope this Christmas brings you every joy, sweetheart – and perhaps a little Hermès? – and I’m so much looking forward to meeting you in the new year.

Great list! My list is VERY simple this year: money so I can go nuts shopping in Europe!! Have confirmed we will catch the last day of the Harrod’s sale when mum lands in London and then over to Les Soldes….all I want is European glamour dah-ling!

    • Tuesday, December 13, 2011 13:06

That sounds very simple and practical. You have a major trip coming and in your position, I’d rather extra spending money than a piece of jewellery. I cannot believe you will get to go to the Harrods sale – pure luck!! Yay :-)

Only three items?! Goodness. Although maybe the Birkin counts as two. Or three. I hope you get it before you leave Paris though! I have two lists, one a fantasy wish list and the other a more realistic one. I have Balenciaga boots on the fantasy list, as seen at Barneys NY (santa please hurry they won’t be there for long!) On my “realistic” list is the Caudalie crushed cabernet body scrub and some winter boots from ALDO. Did I mention I had been really good this year?

The vintage Birkin I have my eye on counts as three consecutive Christmases… Once I find my dream job (hopefully this Spring), I decided that I’ll treat myself to the bag of dreams. It’s been a tough year – I deserve it!

That body scrub sounds divine – yes please! Be sure to check that Father Christmas has Balenciaga’s number. You have to cover all of your bases :-)

I am obsessed with those Jimmy’s! Pure perfection!

    • Friday, December 16, 2011 07:39

I’ve tried them on 4 times now… Given the height, I’m not sure I can justify buying them but we’ll see…

  8. Wednesday, December 14, 2011 16:29

I don’t think my Santa will agree to a Birkin bag any time soon!

I had a KitchenAid mixer back in Iceland and one day I’ll have one again. They’re perfect. In Canada I bought a pink KitchenAid food processor which was the coolest kitchen accessory I’ve ever had! (I sold it before going back to Europe and miss it every single day.)

    • Friday, December 16, 2011 07:34

Apparently your Santa has been chatting with my Santa because there will be no Birkin for me, but what’s a life without dreams?!

We need to talk Kitchen Aid some more because clearly we’re both obsessed. Once I find a permanent home, we’ll discuss some interiors as well. We have very similar taste.

After seeing this post I am certain you and I could easily be best friends and shopping buddies if we lived in the same town. I would take all 3 of those items and they would be top of my list too. Awesome selections!

    • Friday, December 16, 2011 07:18

I’d love to go shopping with you Naina, you have such good taste. My bank balance, however, is mighty grateful that we have an ocean between us!

Madame B. I adore this post for the very chic style with a side of practicality (kitchen aid). And for the newly acquired nickname for what I also refer to as my dream bag :)

    Xx

Thanks for your comment. Sadly Christmas came and went and no Birkin. Santa left a note about forgetting to place an order at Hermès :-(

      Have a great New Year!
